A Royal Thank You From Kate

Without any fanfare, the Duchess of Cambridge has paid her dues to some of the unsung heroines of the royal wedding. Mandrake can disclose that Kate made a secret visit on Tuesday to the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, where she said thank you to the master embroiderers who helped to create her bridal gown.

Susan Kay-Williams, the school’s chief executive, tells me: “It was lovely to meet the Duchess of Cambridge and to show her what the Royal School of Needlework does.”  Click link for full post from The Telegraph.

If The Shoe Fits.....The Duchess Will Wear It!!!

The Duchess will be presented with six sketches of shoes designed especially for her by students on the University's renowned footwear design course when she visits Leicester with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh next week.

She will pick her favourite pair of heels on the day, and the winning design will then be made especially for her.

Kate will be visiting the city on March 8 on the first leg of the Queen's diamond jubilee tour. It will be the first time the Queen and Kate have attended a public engagement together.

Students whose creations are in the running said it would be 'incredible' to design a pair of shoes for one of the most photographed women in the world.

She set a trend for nude courts in the spring, and this winter has rarely seen out of her black suede heels... So what on earth will she think of the wacky shoes that students from De Montfort University have designed for her?

Duchess Kate Wears Her LK Bennett Coat For A Park Stroll With Lupo - Socialite Life

HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge looked happy and relaxed as she walked around Kensington Gardens Monday (February 2oth) with her cocker spaniel puppy, Lupo.

The pup’s name was accidentally revealed by the Duchess herself on a vist to The Arts Room in Oxford, Tuesday, when students presented Her Royal Highness with treats for the dog, whose name means “wolf” in Italian.

Always one to make the most of her gorgeous wardrobe, Catherine wore a suede hat, LK Bennett‘s shearling Darwin Jacket and wellies by Le Chameau Vierzonord, the same outfit she wore to watch Prince William play football at Sandringham over Christmas with Prince Harry.  Many thanks to What Kate Wore for spotting Catherine’s look back in December when she first wore the cozy outfit.

Kate's Smashing Success - The Coat Dress

The Duchess of Cambridge caused quite a stir this week in Oxford on her first public engagement as royal patron of The Art Room, not least because of the coatdress she wore.
K-Middy plumped for an elegant wool, long-sleeved coat slash dress from Irish designer Orla Kiely in a bird print design with A-line skirt.

A coat dress is an easy way of looking smart, while staying warm, and hides all manner of sins. Full marks to the Duchess!  Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2105140/Kate-Middleton-Steal-Duchess-Cambridges-coat-dress-style.html#ixzz1nD93nxw6

Royal Puppy's Name is LUPO!!

The Duchess told a group of children receiving art therapy from one of her charities the moniker of her cocker spaniel during a visit to their primary school.

The name is an Italian word meaning wolf and is also used as a surname in other parts of the world. Lupo's father is reportedly a pet owned by Kate's mother Carole Middleton.

The puppy is just a few months old and is the son of a dog belonging to Carole Middleton, the mother of the duchess. The couple have had the pet since December.

Caption: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wore a brown wool coat from British retailer Hobbs on a visit to the northern city of Liverpool. The coat is currently sold out on the brand's website, but more stock is due in later this week.

The Duchess of Cambridge sure does have the golden touch, and we don’t mean the adoration she inspires in everyone who meets her. Once again, Kate has prompted a royal buying spree.

During a visit to Liverpool on Tuesday, she wore a brown wool coat by British retailer Hobbs, which sold out within hours, although the chain declined to say how many it had in stock at the time. But fear not, you may still be able to get your hands on the £182, or $285, “Unlimited Celeste Flared Coat.” While earlier it was listed as not in stock, the website now says that more are due in this week. Hobbs even ships to the U.S. for an extra £20, or $31.

Kate's "Duchess Effect" Can She Save a Designer?

The Duchess of Cambridge has become renowned for her powerful effect on the economy as most items of clothing she wears become an instant sell-out.

And when Kate wore a 1950s-style grey coat dress this week for her first solo public engagement, fashion followers were eager to buy their own to emulate the Duchess' elegant style.

But those desperately trying to get hold of the Jesire outfit were stunned to find the firm ceased trading in August after 13 years.
