Kate Arrives at Clarence House Looking So Cool!

Contrary to some reports, William and Kate were expected to spend last night together there before Kate moves into the nearby Goring Hotel in Belgravia today.

The couple have lived together at a rented farmhouse on in the island of Anglesey for the last year and friends said they saw no reason to be apart for any longer than necessary.

In line with tradition, however, Kate will spend her last night as an unmarried woman apart from the groom. Although she was offered the pick of palace apartments in which to stay, family-orientated Kate has opted to stay in the five-star Goring Hotel with her parents, Michael and Carole, sister Pippa and brother James.

Hundreds of soldiers, sailors and airmen today had their last chance to practise for Friday's Royal Wedding in a dress rehearsal that started before dawn and continued into daybreak.

The full-scale walk-through was timed down to the last second - with military leaders well aware that the world will be expecting them to make sure everything goes smoothly on the big day.

So nothing was left to chance with the dry run which began at around 4.50am - after soldiers had gathered as early as 2am - and continued for hours.

A British Tradition: Street Parties Celebrate The Royal Wedding

Union flags hung along Regent Street in celebration of the forthcoming royal wedding. More than 5,500 street parties are expected to mark the occasion

On Friday, April 29, 2011, the day William and Kate are to be married, is also a "Bank Holiday". As is the custom in Britian, millions of Britians will take to the streets and celebrate the marriage of the future King of England.

More than 5,500 street parties are expected to mark the royal wedding. London leads the way with more than 800, including one for Downing Street. And with 85 events approved for the day, Richmond-upon-Thames is the hottest spot for street parties in the capital, according to road closure requests collected by the Local Government Association.

The LGA said that councils are aware of thousands of other parties on cul-de-sacs, pavements or driveways which have not needed official permission, making the total number much higher. The 5,500 total also excludes celebrations in gardens, pubs and parks, and parties held by councils themselves.

Miss Middleton will walk up the aisle at Westminster Abbey next Friday to marry heir to the throne Prince William.

But yesterday she wore a £480 Issa short-sleeved black wrap dress and tan court kitten heels - which she was spotted wearing four years ago - accessorised with her 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring on her shopping spree in London.

The glossy brunette popped into Whistles where she no doubt added more pieces to her wedding and honeymoon wardrobe.
The fashion chain refused to comment on Kate's purchases but the upmarket High Street store typically prices a dress between £100 and £300.

Yesterday, the princess-in-waiting, who is renowned for her love of High Street fashion, was spotted shopping in Warehouse, a mid-market chain.

H.M. will be working, of course, because her birthday, April 21, is Maundy Thursday, an important date for her as Head of the Church of England.
